Eustace Onyeji is the University of Bedfordshire & Luton Chess Club Champion!

The battle for the historic and coveted title of Luton Chess Club Champion was settled after 13 players competed over a 4 round swiss system tournament during the 2025/2026 season. One player went on to win all his matches to stand alone on a maximum 4 out of 4 points, beating two previous champions in the 3rd and 4th rounds.

Congratulations to Eustace Onyeji, who not only has become club champion for the first time, but also the first alumni from the University of Bedfordshire to take the title. A proud achievement for Eustace and the club, and an inspiration for students at the University!
