Bedfordshire County Chess Association has a tradition of opening the season with the Cordon Trophy. The trophy was named after W.A. (Sandy) Cordon of Bedford chess club. Curious to know more, I was directed the his obituary on his club website here: Sandy Cordon 1926 - 2016 And as a tribute, a game of his against and annotated by Paul Habershon here: P.F. Habershon v W.A. Cordon, Bedford 1975
But this is the wesbite for Luton chess club, and we should feature games past and present from our own players. So who better than Luton's own Andrew Perkins to take us through his own game against Mr Cordon from 1968, played on his birthday?
